Doug Phillips (rugby)
Douglas "Doug" V. Phillips was a Welsh rugby union and professional rugby league footballer of the 1940s and '50s who at club level played rugby union (RU) for Swansea RFC, and at representative level played rugby league (RL) for Great Britain, and Wales, and at club level for Oldham, and Broughton Rangers/Belle Vue Rangers, playing at Second-row, i.e. 11 or 12, during the era of contested scrums.[1]
International honours
Doug Phillips won caps for Wales (RL) while at Oldham and Belle Vue Rangers 1945…1951 9-caps, and won caps for Great Britain (RL) while at Broughton Rangers in 1946 against Australia (3 matches), and while at Belle Vue Rangers in 1950 against Australia.[2]
Note
Broughton Rangers and Belle Vue Rangers is the same club, changing its name from Broughton Rangers to Belle Vue Rangers for the start of the 1946–47 season.
